Day 26/27 - Mon/Tuesday 11/12 October – Jasper Park Lodge
Temperature 8 °C & Overcast
The Jasper Park Lodge shuttle picked us up at the station and drove out to the lodge. The resort covers a significant area on the shore of the lake. The main 'Lodge' has a multi-level standard hotel wing, the main function and dining rooms and a small arcade of shops. Most of the accommodation is in log cabins set apart from the main building. There was only a 25% occupancy overnight and the place was very quiet. The staff used a collection of electric carts to move luggage and guests around the resort.
Having eaten a significant lunch we skipped dinner and turned in early to catch up on lost sleep on the train. The room was very comfortable but was heated more than we would have liked. A ceiling fan kept the air moving at least.
Dawn isn't until after 7 and we finally made it to breakfast about 9. We had a buffet breakfast, a cooked or hot one for me and the cold one for Jenny. Lots of choices and a beautiful room. After breakfast we wandered around and took some photos then prepared to check out at 11:30 to be ready for the coach to Lake Louise at noon.
Day 27 Tuesday 12 October – Jasper to Lake Louise
The coach trip to Lake Louise was provided by the Brewster Transportation Service. The coach was very comfortable and we occupied the right hand front seats. The four hour trip brought one spectacular view after another. There had been an overnight snow fall and in some places there was snow on the side of the road.
The Columbia Icefield Glacier was most impressive. It appears we have a more detailed tour of this area on the return trip to Jasper.
Day 27 Tuesday 12 October – Chateau Lake Louise
This is a most impressive place, we have been allocated a room with a view of the glacier and the lake. We spent a lot of time exploring the many shops and lounges. We ate a substantial diner in the Glacier Saloon an extensive room set up in the style of a mid-western saloon. There are at least 4 other dining options from a deli or cafeteria style service to a very formal room that requires prior reservations for diner.
Back to the room and catch up on email and down-load the photos. We're here until 4 tomorrow, will provide more details.

At least the bears are fake!
What an incredible place to stay guys...that would have to be one of the most impressive views from a motel room that I've ever seen.
Love you both
